Reiki and the Root Chakra

In this blog we will explore the first chakra, the muldhara chakra, we will look at what this means, how imbalances in the root chakra present and manifest and how to bring healing to these areas of our life.

Our body is energy manifested into the physical, the chakra system is one way of explore this gorgeous energetic web that runs through us and stretches all around us. The chakra system corresponds to body parts, and ties into stages of our development or fears and cycles we might repeat. The good news is that with energetic work, self reflections, and others exercises the chakra system can be brought back in to healthy alignment over time

What is the root chakra?

The root chakra sits in the pelvic floor/perineum at the very base of the spine, it is often ascribed the colour red, the root chakra is also connected the legs and our feet. Emotionally, our root chakra is fundamentally about our ability to feel safe and supported in the world- knowing that we have s enough necessary resources such as food and safe shelter.

When our root chakra is healthy we feel grounded and present- we are anchored in the present moment as we are not fearful for our survival. We are able to make clear choices, and move from this place of security and we find it easy to share, because we do not worry about our resources. Having a strong root chakra is the foundation of a healthy energy system, here are some practises that support our root chakra

Here are practises I recommend to my reiki clients that support the root chakra

-Practises that bring us into our body- such as yoga and walks in nature

-Connecting the earth- meditating near a tree or gardening

-Connecting with the needs of your body- ensuring that you are creating safe and regular patterns of hydrating and nourishing yourself

Mantras for the root chakra

‘I am safe, I am present, I have everything I need’

I hope this was of help to you in some way!
