What will I experience through hypnotherapy?
Many people have preconceptions about hypnotherapy, they might have picked them up from magic movies, or stage stunts, but the real truth behind it all is far more simple. Hypnotherapy, at it's core is a simple state of relaxation, and focussed attention, that gives you the space to explore things thoughts that make you anxious, or to take on new beliefs.
So after we have spent time discussing your goals, struggles and your dream outcome from hypnotherapy, I would help you to enter this state of hypnosis, this can include us going through a body relaxation, counting backwards, and performing a clever little trick of the eyes. It’s important to know that you remain in full control during hypnotherapy, that you can only be hypnotised to do the things you know you already really want to do.
Thought our sessions we will be working towards your goals, whether it’s to improve your social confidence; such as speaking in work meetings, giving presentations or going on first dates and making new friend.
We will begin to explore the key stories your are telling your self about that difficulty, and from there we will use that state of hypnosis for a few things, we might explore the situations you find challenging from that deep state of relaxation, so that you can begin, in that moment to prove yourself that the moments you are so worried about are actually totally safe. We will work to find tools, or assign shortcuts to a sense of relaxation that you can employ at any time.
